What are tags?

You can give music a "tag", which is like a keyword or label. You can assign as many tags as you like to any track. Tags are a great way to label items by your own defined genre ('rock', 'electropop', 'driving music', and so on).

Since tags are user defined, the search and browse possibilities are endless. You can come upon music in a whole new way!

How do I tag something?

When you are viewing the details of a given track/song, you will see a link to "tag this song" (under the star rating). Simply click on that link and type away! We will save your tag(s) to our database.

I entered a tag, but I don't see it.

To improve the usefulness of our tagging system, we normalize some tags by stripping out most punctuation characters, like "'","," and ".", and converting the tag to lowercase form. If you don't see your tag the way you entered it on this screen, don't worry, we've stored it and attached it to your tracks the way you typed it in, but it got changed into a punctuation-free, lower case version here.
