What are tags?

Users can "tag" themselves, which is like a keyword or label. Users can assign as many tags as they like to themselves. Currently we do not allow users to tag each other. Tags are a great way to label items by your own defined genre ('rock', 'electropop', 'driving music', and so on).

Since tags are user defined, the search and browse possibilities are endless. You can come upon music in a whole new way!

How do I tag my profile?

Simply click the "About" link in the right box under "My Profile". This will take you to your About tab in your profile. There you will see a link to edit your Tags. Enter as many as you wish, seperating each with a comma.

I entered a tag, but I don't see it.

To improve the usefulness of our tagging system, we normalize some tags by stripping out most punctuation characters, like "'","," and ".", and converting the tag to lowercase form. If you don't see your tag the way you entered it on this screen, don't worry, we've stored it and attached it to your tracks the way you typed it in, but it got changed into a punctuation-free, lower case version here.
